RETHINKING SUPPLY CHAIN INCREASES VISIBILITY, EFFICIENCY

 

One of this biotech company’s goals was to better understand and control their inbound supply chains throughout the U.S. They found that they lacked communication and visibility and discovered an unusually high percentage of late deliveries, which led to increased costs due to decreased productivity, damaged product, unnecessary expedite shipping, and delayed production.

Well-performing carriers were retained, while new partnerships were formed in areas where performance was lacking. In one instance, the company had a vendor whose shipments were often damaged.
